His vision and insatiable passion for watches and technology enabled the evolution of Govberg Jewelers from a Philadelphia-based retail shop to one of the world’s premier authorized dealers of both new and pre-owned timepieces. Danny recognized years ago that selling new watches was only one way to support the life of a watch collector, and revolutionized a tech-forward pre-owned strategy that inspired the evolution of WatchBox, which now is one of the world’s foremost authorities for pre-owned watch sales and trading sites around the world, including locations in Hong Kong, Switzerland and most recently, Dubai.
Danny’s approach to luxury retail, coupled with a drive to confront challenges and an appetite for all things watch-related has led to several related ventures and business interests throughout the last 35 years, including a watch distribution company, a media and publishing company, and a web-based watch repair operation through which thousands of clients received expert service and care for their timepieces. Danny has expanded his interests and portfolio over the years, adding in Danny’s investment in technology fields. He co-founded BSD Code and Design Academy’s North American division, which offers affordable, accessible and applicable technology education for children and adults.
Danny further expanded his investments to Hospitality and Commercial Real Estate as he co-founded BG Capital, a Philadelphia based real estate company specializing in Residential and Commercial spaces which includes acquiring student housing projects at Temple University, Commonwealth Hospital which is located in the Northeast Philadelphia and Seaport Pier which includes a restaurant/bar along with a swim club containing 200 or more members located on the beach in Wildwood, NJ.
