Joseph F. Byrne was born and raised in Philadelphia and began his career in the building trades in 1993. He quickly climbed the ranks within the industry and by 1999, he was a foreman for a mid-size commercial firm, which facilitated new construction multi-family and commercial fit-out projects. Shortly thereafter, while maintaining a full-time position in the construction industry, he acquired his first set of investment properties. In his now 27-year career, he has developed and managed properties across a wide array of asset classes including ground-up multi-family, hospitality and retail, commercial mixed-use, medical office, and light industrial. Joe is the founder of JB Richards Construction and the Co-Founder of BG Capital and its multitude of subsidiary companies, which includes investments in student housing located by Temple University, Commonwealth Hospital located in Northeast Philadelphia and Seaport Pier which includes a restaurant/bar along with a swim club containing 200 or more members located on the beach in Wildwood, NJ.  He serves as the managing principal for all investments and development of BG Capital’s commercial real estate portfolio ranging from $500,000 to $65,000,000 on a per project basis.
